Product Description

The ANSI/ASQC Z1.4 (ISO2859 /MiL-STD-105E / BS6001 / DIN40.080 / NF X06-021/022) statistical sampling procedure, or a special standard provided by clients, is normally used. Inspections are carried out at the supplier’s premises check that quality, quantity, and packaging conform to specifications and/or reference samples.

 

A complete pre-shipment inspection programme consists of:

--- Initial Production Check (IPC) on the components, materials and finished products at the commencement of production in order to permits timely corrections and improvements before the bulk of production is initiated, any non-conformity is immediately reported.

--- During Production check (DPC) on the components, materials and finished products when at least 25% of the order has completed in order to check that corrections and improvements suggested during IPC are implemented, examine the existing production and provide a status report.

--- Final Random Inspection (FRI) of production samples selected at random to check that quality, quantity and packaging conform to specifications and ref. samples when the total consignment is completed and at least 80% is packed in order to be decided by the client if the goods will be accepted.

--- Loading Supervision (LS) can be added to ensure that the goods checked at FRI are those being shipped.

--- QC and QA on site to ensure that process and products quality is under control and actual progress conform to the predetermined time schedule.The major inspection items include appearance, performance, measurements, workmanship, accessories, assortment, labeling, packing and marking, etc.

 

Defects detected during inspection are classified to 3 categories below:

--- Critical: to result in a hazardous or unsafe condition for an individual using the product or that is contravening mandatory regulations.

--- Major: to result in failure, reducing the usability of the product and obvious appearance defects affecting the saleability of the product.

--- Minor: not to reduce the usability of the product, but is nevertheless a workmanship defect beyond the defined quality standard.

 

Acceptable Quality Level (AQL) is usually applied as the following per ANSI/ASQC Z1.4 unless otherwise instructed by the client:

--- For critical defects, none is accepted.

--- For major defects, AQL1.5 (for high price articles) / AQL4.0 (medium to low ones)

--- For minor defects, AQL2.5(for high price articles) / AQL6.5 (medium to low ones)
